I'm glad it was helpful, Cynthia ! Make sure you read my blog post for a few insights and tips. You'll need to have paint brushes and roller covers that you don't mind throwing away, and we ended up needing an extra sanding sponge for this project.
Of course, one thing leads to another. Next will be painting the cabinets, door & trim. Then maybe a new light fixture. Desperately need to move those crazy outlets and light switch that are right where the mirrors should hang. What were they thinking???
Informative & inspiring. Have a laminate countertop that has a stain which won't come out...... can not replace at this time, so this is an excellent alternative idea. :-)
I also used the Rustoleum countertop paint; worked great and is holding up excellent after almost a year. However.... be absolutely sure you have adequate ventilation as the smell is horrible! After the first coat, I borrowed a respirator from a friend which is the only way i could stand

to work with it; I don't know how you'd be able to paint a kitchen counter and still be able to stay in the house while waiting for it to dry. I did 3 coats (and 4 on some areas), so it took some time until I could use the bathroom again. I would love to do my kitchen with it, but will plan on staying with a friend next time.
Thanks, everyone! Susan , I wonder if you used a different kit- this one was not a paint. It has color chips that you spread over an adhesive base, then put only one coat of a topcoat. The smell wasn't bad at all.
Becky ,I know how much you hate to paint wood! :) The cabinet doors are plywood, which is pretty noticeable along the edges and in those routered areas.
My husband rehabs forclosures and recently had this done by one of his guys in the kitchen of this home - they look great! Shows no seams. This is a great alternative when you can't afford stone. It really looked great.
