Now, I have found another plant in my garden with spreading vines. Look, it is growing all over and I can cut at it to remove pieces of it, the roots are all along the vine. Who knows? Can any of you help me identify it? It is not flowering yet if it will.

I have that in my yard, flowers to small star-like flowers. I pull it as a weed, it grows all over and drops seeds continually through growing season.

This looks like catchweed bedstraw. It's a weed covered in sticky hairs. The stems are very brittle & make it hard to pull the weed out. You have to dig out the roots, which are fairly shallow.

Kill it while you can. It will take over!

It is invasive, but if you like to dye wool with natural materials, it makes a nice red dye. It takes about 1 bushel of plant to dye 1 skein of wool as you only use the roots.

Here in the PNW we call it "sticky weed" or "love weed". Yes it is invasive so get rid of it!

Possibly "Cleavers": Galium aparine. Known as "goose grass". Geese love to eat it. Also named "sweetheart" (for the way it clings to shrubs). Ancient reputation as a spring tonic, traditionally taken as a cleansing remedy after the long winter. Parts used: Arial Parts. Key uses: A good cleansing herb, & lymphatic tonic. This stuff is HORRIBLE, if it is the same thing we have in Texas. Sticky leaves and stems cling to everything. It is NASTY, and you have to pull it out before it goes to seed. I don't know what it is called, but I HATE it so bad, that I will stop to pull it out of beds in public places.

Thank SO MUCH for all of your answers, I really appreciate your time and helpful info! I will be pulling it like you say, I did find some red dye on my hand yesterday, maybe that was it, I wonder if I can dye cloth with it, I tried to use pokeberries last year, We dug up that huge plant and it is coming back again already, I think! Talk about a mess it make getting the seeds from the dye so I never used it... I wanted it for a pair of or raggedy long johns I found and I was going to just cut up the dyed fabric.... Smiles, Cyndi
