We are in Australia in the Blue Mountains and I have seen Spotted Pardalotes in our back garden. They are tiny but very colourful birds. Also Gang Gang cockatoos which are small cockatoos - black with red heads for the males and more of a grey/black for the females. They have lovely pattern on their feathers. I don't have photos to show you but you can Google them to see what I am referring to. In Tasmania (which is a small island off the south/east coast of Australia across the Tasman Sea and is part of Australia. It is also home to the Tasmanian Devil. Theses animals are endangered due to facial cancers which are infectious and are wiping out their numbers. They eat mainly road kill - not hunters but they are carnivores) there are a few of the very rare Forty Spotted Pardalote left and we visited a property with a conservationist who told us all about them. There were a few in the trees there but so high up and so small that even with binoculars I failed to catch a glimpse of them.
