5 Tips on Working With House Cleaning Services

Here are my 5 tips that I follow every time I work with my home cleaning company. I hope they can be just as useful for you, as they are for me. Enjoy!
1) When hiring home cleaning services, always explain your specific needs. Whether you speak directly with the cleaning company or use an agency to do that, make sure your requirements are clear from the very beginning. Create a list of cleaning tasks and specific places that need the attention of your cleaners. Don't be afraid to do that. It may seem uncomfortable, but the cleaners are there to work for you, so guidance is important. Thus, it's going to be much easier to accomplish what you really want.

2) Your cleaners are people, so treat them respectfully and they will respond the same way. But be aware that curiosity is human nature. Leaving papers, piles of bills or other confidential material around will give them a chance to peek. Hide and lock these papers and save yourself future troubles.

3) Develop a relationship of security and trust with your cleaners. It's up to you to decide if your should be home when the cleaners are there. If you stay, the chances are both you and the cleaners to be very uncomfortable, unless you have a big residence and you'll not cross paths. Choosing to be out or at work during the cleaning sessions means to be careful with security. Give your cleaners a key that can't be duplicated. If they have to use a security keypad to enter your premises, provide them with a PIN that's only for their use. This, if anything goes wrong and that PIN is the cause, you'll know who did it. Ask your cleaners not to share your personal information (street address, phone numbers) with anyone, not even with their family members. It's a fact that some cleaners gossip, especially if you live in a good neighborhood and drive a new car.

4) Communicate with your cleaners. If you think they aren't doing a good job, tell them. Like any person, every cleaner has pride in their work and some just don't understand all that's expected of them. Explain how you would prefer tasks to be performed and ask if this is manageable. Then watch for improving performance. If it doesn't, or if the cleaners don't agree with your requests, then it might be time to part ways and find someone who fits in your needs.

5) Keep in mind that the cleaners you hired for one set of tasks may not be able to clean something else in your house. For instance, when you need deep carpet and upholstery cleaning, or exterior window cleaning, don't count on your maid to do that. Speak with your cleaning company to send you the right teams of cleaners for the specific jobs.
