I thought the fake rock was there to make the yard more appealing. But seriously, you could plant some shrubs or decorative grasses. Do you have a photo of the site so we can offer some more suggestions?

Why not construct a nice faux wishing well to put over the well itself. Then a few flower beds around it to finish it off.

first, the rock is soooo much bigger than most,,I think the water well.guys went crazy, cause some of my neighbors actually have the wells in their flower beds. It looks lie an elephant pooped in my yard. Pic tomorrow!!!

Hey, it can't be that bad! And plants and some imagination will work to make it better! I love the wishing well idea Woodbridge suggested. Put in some decorative grasses and in the spring and summer a few different size potts of bright flowers would be stunning. And you could even plant a climbing vine on it!
