The father back you go in the closet, the less height you have to work with.

How about stacking bins for seasonal clothes. Shelves could be used also.

  • Skirt hangars that hold several items in tiers needn't hold only skirts. Any dress with a set waistline can be folded at the waist and hung up, Also rompers etc. Variation on that theme: I got someVERY affordable hangars that had multiple horizontal crosspieces with indentations to hold the straps for hanging camisoles. I also use them for swimsuits, sleeveless tops etc. Finally, instead of a closet rod, if you can use a drapery rod that has one end permenantly fastenedand & the other that unhooks like a swing arm, that's a big help when you want to get something and can just swing the rod out..

You're probably going to thing I crazy, but consider installing peg board on the two side walls from floor to ceiling. This is easy to do and not expensive. All kinds of hooks are available for peg board including ones that let you put shelves up. With peg board, you have endless opportunities to rearrange your storage. You can hang purses, scarves, jewelry. You can hang totes that hold gloves, scarves, even shoes. In the back of your closet, I agree with those who said for you to use skirt or pants hangers to make clothing fit the height. And you can use the tallest section of your pegboard with a long hook(s) to hang full length items like a coat or dress that can't be folded.

Found this on line. Instead of wine use it to have clothes and shoes in there. put wheels on a shoe shelving unit (small to fit lower end and all next to lowest. Then next two I would install a pull out clothes rack or try some of the designs I posted here.
