@CK Yes you are right. I just go slowly. Things are so much cheaper in the U.S. online though. I try to order from Canada, because we get nailed with custom charges and hassles on returns. I'm in the process of downsizing, so I don't really need more ''stuff''... It is more the maintenance aspect that adds up. As for the entryway, I have never had one...it is the oddest thing. It is almost like I purposely chose homes that didn't have one.:)

I have a long hallway 19 feet that I do not know what to do with. I have a formal living room that I never use. Wish I could find out if the wall between kitchen and tiny dining room is load bearing. Would love to extend kitchen or make formal ideas one area.

connie the hallway is load bearing. I just wanted decorating advice. The area in question is the formal living & dining room next to the kitchen. The ideal solution would be to extend the kitchen, but that would probably be very costly.

We have a corner gas 'wood stove' fireplace. You know the kind with the stove pipe gounging right up the middle, to the ceiling! We just put the barn wood surround/mantel but I just don't know WHAT to do with the 2 walls behind it?

@CK It would be nice with stone veneer around it. I have a gas ''wood stove", and will be adding the veneer over the panelling, similar to the top one on this page: http://www.rcpblock.com/stoneveneer_natural-oceanmistnat.html

As in my previous home ... my powder room. It took me 15 years in my previous home to finally have it decorated into something I really loved. Then I sold the house! Now in my newer home I am having the same dilemma. Maybe I will just wait out the 15 years and see what I can come up with LOL!
