Crosses Made From Cowboy Boots

I made these crosses for Christmas presents.
My husband cut a cross out of 1/2 inch plywood and we cut the tops off of old boots with a razor blade. I washed the tops and set them out to dry. Then I used a towel over them and ironed each one to flatten it. I affixed fur in the center where the cross arms intersect with spray adhesive and then layered the boot tops down the edges, affixing them with furniture tacks. Then we cut strips of old fencing to finish the edges all the way around. I found decorative crosses at Hobby Lobby that I fastened on top of the fur.

i have a pair of old boots that belonged to a very good friend of mine that is now I’ll. I love this idea to preserve the memory of him. I would like to find some one to make smaller crosses. One out of each boot if possible. So I could have one and then his son could have one. Do u know of anyone that could do that? Thanks is advance .

Lay your boots out and it will give you a guideline for size. Each arm of the cross was cut 6 inches wide, the top three are the same length, but the bottom one is longer. I don't have the exact dimensions because I gave them all away. But that is how I figured it out.
