Hanging My Garden Trellis Headboard

Remember the garden trellis headboard I posted on here early last year? Well, we finally got around to attaching it to the wall. No more clattering in the night. This was a MacGyver episode if I ever saw one. My hubby, my hero. :)

The headboard is positioned higher than when I originally had it simply propped behind the bed.

Hubby Richard created brackets from an L-bracket to attach the trellises to a 1x6, which was then screwed into the wall studs.

Richard's concoction for securing the top of the trellises to the wall. 3/8" pvc cut to same depth as the 1x6.

Love it! As for your guy, well, we have all heard that there is a special place in heaven for puppy dogs. I believe that all our wonderful guys that put up with our ideas that we try to explain to them and they work through, will be sitting there patting those sweet puppy dogs! Hats off to our wonderful two and four legged companions!

Thanks, Jeanette S. You're right, they do put up with a lot, don't they?! :)

Yes, they do. And just think, they do so sweetly (well, combined with a bit of head shaking) when we are speaking a foreign language and they have no idea what we are saying! (Hee, hee)

I don't know why he can't understand what a thingie or a whatchamacallit or a doohickey is! :)

I had to laugh at your list of words...these are some of my favorites. And I thought of how they look at us when we try to describe a sound! It is a mixture of "is she nuts" and a look that they are about to flee for their lives!

SheilaG, Plum Doodles - I didn't see your first post, so am so glad you shared the progress on the project :) What a creative and economical solution to obtaining a headboard! It looks great! I may have to copy your idea in one of our spare rooms where I don't want to spend a lot of money. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Gail Salminen. We had a dark wood bed in there from hubby's grandmother, but I wanted something lighter and more cottagey. I couldn't justify spending a lot of money when I technically didn't "need" anything. :)
