High efficiency washing machine fails to rinse properly

Besides doing an extra 2 or 3 rinses, which depletes the purpose of the H E technology to begin with, how can I improve the removal of detergent from clothing. It actually shows on dark clothing. I only use a very tiny amount of detergent, but the washer does not provide, in my opinion, enough water to the load to allow for proper rinsing. Any help will be appreciated.

I've had an HE washer for several years and it works well for us. Your problem may be the detergent. I have used Purex always. At the time we bought the washer, it was one of the few detergents that had "HE" on the label, so we bought it. I use the lowest amount of detergent (filling to the very lowest line on the cap). I never run extra rinse cycles. The only problem I have had is when I have put too many clothes in the washer, and then a lint type of residue has been on the clothes.

I had the same problem and it was too much detergent also.

I have two sets of HE one top load for the kids(7years)and one front load in our master(1year) and have never run into this problem. I would suggest changing your soap brand 1st to see if it makes a difference. If that doesn't work call and talk to the company you bought it from there may be something faulty with your machine.

I have used so many detergents, including Purex. I don't even fill to the lowest line on the cap, so I think the issue is trying to wash too many clothes at the same time. I have a very high capacity washer, and used to fill my old one, before He came into being, very full and had no issues. Oh well; I will just have to make the adjustment. Thank you both.

Tonia, I tried both calling and emailing GE, but got no response at all. That was disappointing, because I have used their appliances since I began keeping a house a very long time ago. Until now, I was very happy with them, but since this new house and new GE profile appliances in my kitchen, plus the new washer and dryer, I see that the quality and efficiency of the refrigerator and dishwasher are poor. In the future, I plan to use another company. Thank you for your response.
