Candle Holder to Patio Lamp

Karen Nichols
by Karen Nichols
Yard sale item found....a very large hanging candle holder. I decided to make into an outside patio light.
Repaint cage a soft periwinkle and gun metal grey. A string of light wired with thin purple wire to hold evenly and in place.
After lighting wired in, I could not resist to add a little bird as it looks so much like a bird cage. I painted my little "bluebird of happiness" as used to be an old Yankee candle wax warmer.
Now all done and hanging where I want it.....running power to it. Can't wait for tonight to see it aglow. :)

I love it! I am going to be on the lookout for one! BTW, the small Christmas lights do not attract bugs like other lights! My house is painted a cream and the bugs can really make a mess on a light color.

@Jeanette S Great project. You could do the same with any birdcage of size. I see them at thrift stores all the time. If you make one, make sure to share with us! :)
