Bell "Jar" Display (Cloche) From a Soda Bottle

You can make your own display jar, also known as cloches, from a soda bottle and a wood base! The knob on top can be glass or even a painted wood ball works great! These are fun for displaying all kinds of things!
SUPPLIES

Plastic soda bottles with SMOOTH sides. Either the 33oz size or the 2 liter size depending on what you want to display. Both work well.

X-Acto Knife of something similar.

Ruler

Hot Glue Gun

Sharpie Marker for marking bottles where you will cut.

Wood bases about 1/4 larger than cut bottles.

Paint for base. I used black.

Round top handles. Wood or glass. (Details on blog post at bottom of this article.)

Fine saw for cutting top threaded area.

Goo Gone (or similar to clean label remainder off of bottles)
POSTS I'VE DONE THAT SHOW THEM IN USE:

You cut your bottle as tall as you want it.
Using a hack saw cut off the threads off the the bottle ABOVE the bottom lip.
Glue a glass or wood ball on the top. Paint the wood if desired first.
Use any type of round wood base. Paint the base and set your dome on it! Fill it with whatever you like! You can see various examples on the blog post below.

Novel idea, would be nice if the bottles were glass, but this is nice too.
