Replacing Old Wooden Deck With Composite Deck

Our old wooden deck wasn't very functional as it was on two levels, with neither being very large. The paint was chipping off and water pooled on it, plus we discovered that some of the pilings didn't even touch the ground underneath it all! We did some research and decided to go with Lowe's ChoiceDek product.
The new deck is almost finished in this photo
We hired Lowe's contractor to tear down the old deck. We didn't even have decent steps leading into the back yard.
The old wooden deck needed to go.
The old deck extended 12' past the screen porch, but the new deck will just extend 6' out since we'll have more usable space extending out from the breakfast room "bump-out" area.
Here you can see the multi-level area -- the separation rail between them took up space. We kept the screen porch as it was.
faux stacked stone post sleeves
My husband found these faux stacked stone post sleeves on Lowes.com and ordered them for the entrance to the deck. The composite boards are ChoiceDek Beach House Gray and we used New Castle black aluminum railings.

We later added a pergola. Additional photos can be seen at this link.

ChoiceDek interviewed me regarding the deck after they saw this post. The Q&A and additional pictures can be seen on their blog at http://choicedek.com/blog/2015/1210-blogger-sue-powells-new-deck/.

We were not compensated in any way by ChoiceDek. Our project was completed before they contacted me regarding using our deck on their web site.

We're adding a pergola and a new backyard fence, so our current "reveal" photos show that some work is still going on. Please see the blog post for more information. We're so glad to be rid of that old, ugly deck.

How much did the deck cost?

Looks great! We have been looking at doing the same for our wood deck and have been researching composite decking. How long has it been since you did your deck and have you had any issues? There are so many products out there it's hard to say which one is the best. Again, it looks great!
