I want to share with you my rock painting. Its missing the final touch. Ok I'm kind of embarrass to ask but I got to. Can I use varnish instead of mod podge to sealed the paint.

Just about any sealer will work. I like polyurethane spray. Easy, quick dry. Btw, nice rock painting.

Will the rock be inside or outside? Make sure your varnish is compatible with your choice. Several companies make outdoor acrylic varnish. Choose one that is nonyellowing. Sprays are convenient. Be sure to spray OUTSIDE....not inside. You do NOT want to breathe the aerosol in an enclosed space. Next project consider using Decoart's Patio Paint.

Patio Paint will weather well outside. I have some rocks and stepping stones that have been out year round for almost 15 years. They are still in decent shape.

spray varnish but do very light layers because you don't want your painting to run. After the first two sprays then it will be safe to spray heavier. So So 2 light sprays and 1 heavy should be plenty to protect it

A spray polyurethane is always nice and durable. Mod Podge also sells a bottle for outdoor applications! I personally haven't tried it yet, but love their other products.
