For residents looking for a way to improve the looks of their living space and protect their flooring, purchasing and installing rugs should be at the top of the list. If you like how a natural fiber rugs look, seagrass and sisal rugs are some of the best looking and economical on the market. Installing carpets is usually a DIY job. For large closely-fit rugs or if you decide to add padding underneath the rug for better comfort and durability, you might want to consider hiring an expert.

* Installing Rugs For Natural Interior Decorating

One of the main reasons sisal and seagrass rugs have become so popular of late is the trend towards more natural interior decorating. From laminate and hardwood flooring, to ceramics and stone tile, the hottest design fads in home improvement are embracing materials that hearken back to natural materials. And because sisal and seagrass rugs are made form natural woven fibers, they fit many of the popular home designs. Interior decorating with natural materials is a loose decorating scheme, but one of these types of carpets is a great place to start.

* Seagrass Fiber Rugs

Seagrass textile is a popular choice for an area rug because of their looks and durability. Seagrass is grown in coastal areas of China and India, where seawater floods the fields as part of the growing process. It is a tough and non-porous material, making it the perfect area rug for residents with respiratory concerns. Most seagrass carpets come in natural colors, ranging from olive green to light beige, and are backed with a non-slip, foam padding. As it's such a tough material, it can be slippery when applied on slick surfaces like tile and hardwood. In general living areas the foam backing is more than adequate for alleviating this issue, and just keep in mind that seagrass isn't recommended for stairs just for that reason. For regular cleaning and maintenance use a powerful vacuum cleaner, and for specific stains or spots better call a professional cleaning company.

* Sisal Fiber Rugs

Sisal is a material that's been used in rug making for thousands of years. It's a durable and tough natural fiber, that stands up well to heavy traffic. It also looks great. It's easier to bleach and dye than seagrass, making it better choice if you're looking for a more neutral carpet, or want a dyed rug to match your current color scheme. However, sisal's finer fiber is more difficult to clean over time.

* Inexpensive Rug Installation: Sisal And Seagrass Rugs

While both seagrass and sisal rugs are beautiful addition to any house interior, they are also some of the most economical rugs you can purshase. Compared to an oriental carpet, there is really no comparison. And don't forget that the simple instllation of a natural fiber rug also goes a long way towards the integrity and beauty of your original flooring. That means investing in a sisal or seagrass carpet is also an invesment in the longevity of your hardwood, laminate, stone or other flooring.
