Help! I made coasters and the colors ran

I made coasters out of tiles and decorated with sharpies using stencils. I baked them in the oven like all the sites on the computer say to do. They say put in a cold oven and turn on to 350. Cook for 30 minutes then turn off the oven and don't open until completely cool. Any ideas??????

Did you use oil based sharpies???.... If not that could be the problem. Sorry this happened to you. Most sites don't mention it needs to be oil based sharpies. :)

@Snmart1980 I got the instructions from this site. Oh well! lesson learned. I will make 1 item of a new craft I come across to see if it works instead of a dozen sets of 4 like I did with the coasters. It was for a fundraiser to get money for a member of my church who has cancer and had to have surgery and would be out of work. That's why I was sad it didn't work. Thank you

maybe would have been better to air dry then poly them

I've found that even permanent markers can run if a wet substance touches them. The best thing might be to use acrylic paints, let that dry, use a soft, small brush to carefully cover with polyurethane. Dry thoroughly & do 2 more coats. Acrylic poly stays clear. Oil-based poly tends to yellow and takes longer to dry. Mary

I had received a set of stamped marble tiles/coaster as a gift. I was a little concerned that the stamp ink might run so I sprayed it a few times with sealing spray.
