Gardening: Another question related to the raised brick planter.

What is the best way to build a drain so that it doesn't flood when it rains?

Thanks for the answers, but I'm still hoping for more ideas.

Gardening: I have built a raised planter made of bricks and it is up against the house.

What is the best way to seal the house before I fill the planter with dirt?

The planter is a little over a foot and a half deep. My thought was I needed to put some kind ...»
of drain pan in (or even something like a mini-french drain) and then drill a hole into the brick and run it out. Thoughts?

Also, where do I buy the the sheet metal liner? Can I get that at Home Depot or??? And do I need to attach it to the house somehow or do I just let the weight of the dirt inside the planter hold it against the house?

    Thank you!
