Cement floor in 2 bedrooms

I have cement floors in 2 of my bedrooms. Years ago, I painted one room (using & following directions for cement paint) but it's beginning to peel, any other ideas how to cover floors? I really don't want carpeting.

I really like the snap-together floating floor made of "luxury" vinyl planks. Easy to install and durable, and the dark gray wood grain ones look good too.

I just installed peel and stick vinyl planks to my kitchen on top of raw cement. I love how it looks. I was worried that it may not adhere well but so far so good. What I love about it is that if a piece gets damaged you can just pull it up and replace it with a new one. The trick is to make sure your floors are squeaky clean before installation. We had laminate before and it was destroyed when our washing machine sprung a leak. Laminate is not friendly to water and heavy traffic. It works well in a bedroom though. I am attaching photo of the vinyl mid project. I am now painting and working on other projects in the kitchen so I do not have photos of it all finished yet. It looks fantastic, like real word without the maintenance.

  Lisa's Creative Designs Swansboro, NC We used the peel and stick vinyl squares in our wash room that had a cement floor. I wanted to get rid of the cement dust that I got every time I swept the floor. So easy to sweep now and have had them on for 10 yrs or so. You have so many patterns to choose from now. My husband squared off the starting point and it went fast from there. This is a combination of laundry, sewing and storage shelves room. He put in a ceiling fan for me. as the room was from part of a 3-car garage so 1 part was all I needed. but we did not have air or heat in that area. In winter I put a oil base heater to run while I do laundry and to leave on at night to save the pipes from freeing. You do brush on a thin adhesive liquid to floor to bond to the sticky back tile.

  @Sue Sanders So far the floor is holding up well and I didn't use any extra adhesive. I had about three small pieces that just would not stick so I peeled them up and applied floor adhesive. Worked like a charm. If any planks happen to pop up I will just stick them back down with a thin coat of adhesive. My brother works in a hospital in the maintenance department. They lay the same type of flooring over concrete all the time there and he said they do use a little adhesive as well. He loves vinyl tile tool. It is water friendly, easy to install and easy to fix.

  @Lisa's Creative Designs LCD, We followed the sticky vinyl tile instructions to put a very thin coat of adhesive on our cement floor and let it almost dry then laid the tile. Never had any tile to loosen up of curl up. So easy to sweep and mop in comparison to the cement floor.

Home depot has a linoleum flooring that you do yourself. It's super easy!it looks like wood floor and comes in strips. Even has a warranty!
