From Pond to Disappearing Water Feature!

We had been wanting to fill in this small pond and make it into a flower bed until we came across this beautiful vase priced to sell because of a few surface flaws. Since we were redoing our patio we decided to turn it into the water feature.
We removed all the flagstone around the pond and added concrete blocks to support the heavy vase. We also filled in around with old concrete pavers to support all the rock that would come later.
We had this old baby play yard, so we tie wrapped it together and cut it out to the shape of the pond and put it on top along with some old netting we had to keep leaves out.
We cut a hole in the bottom of the vase and ran the pump tubing to the top and secured in with a piece of ceramic tile cut to fit the opening at the top. We added a few decorative rocks in the top of the vase.
We outlined the pond with pebbles and decorative rock to camouflage it's original shape. There is a trap door to the back left side under the rock for access to the pump. A few after photos of our new water feature and our Cutting Edge Stencil inspired patio makeover!
The stencil how-to is on my post "A Patio Makeover Inspired By A Cutting Edge Stencil"
We love our new patio and water feature! Hope you enjoyed reading about how we did it.
