I am looking for a Lakota Pecan tree. Any ideas where I can get one?

Also, do I need to plant 2 trees for pollination or are most pecan cultivars self-pollinating?

This nursery ships trees - http://www.womacknursery.com/pecans.html Can't help you with the other question.

You should not rely on self-pollination, Keoni. You'll get better results planting two different cultivars that bloom at compatible times. 'Lakota,' for example, should be a good pollenizer for, and be well pollenized by 'Pawnee', 'Osage' and 'Giles'. Keoni, try Full Bloom Nursery- Kelly has a good collection up north in Cleremont. She is a member here on HomeTalk and you can contact her here or she also has a website..http://www.fullbloomnursery.com/ It shows that she does stock Pecans...but you might need to call for varieties

Keoni, Johnson Nursery in Ellijay, Georgia sells pecans. Not local but regional, you could drive there and see what they have. Check out their offereings www.johnsonnursery.com I ordered blueberries from them and the plants were shipped, arrived in good condition.
