How to Make an Farmhouse - Industrial Cage for Your Light

For around $3, you can make an industrial cage for your light. Get the farmhouse look for less!
I've had this awesome green swag light forever! Sometimes I buy things for no reason or so my husband says ;)
In reality I was just waiting for the perfect opportunity to make it shine! I saw these Gutter Strainers at Lowe's and had a light bulb moment! I grabbed one and headed straight to the lighting section to pick out the perfect bulb for my new cage light! I love the vintage lights and use every opportunity to replace regular bulbs with them.
Don't you just love this bulb!
The strainer is very flexible and open on one side.
All you have to do is fit it around this plastic area and place the bolt back on, that normally holds a globe on. Easy, peasy, chicken wire looky!
And there you have it! Visit me for more details and fun ideas at Refresh Restyle!

I've been looking to buy rope swag lights but there are perfect, I suppose you could spray them any color or wrap twine around them. Can you buy them to plug into a socket or do they need to be wired on?

An these swag lights be bought to plug into a socket or do they need to be wired in? Doesn't matter about the color, the cable can be sprayed or wrapped in jute twine etc. Thanks 🕯

Would these work on a vanity light in a bathroom?
