I picked this plant up yesterday; it was the last one and the seller could not tell me anything about it---not even what it is.
Name of plant....full sun....part sun.......how much room will it need? Pruning necessary? Any information is extremely helpful; thank-you!!

It is St. John's Wort, to be specific I would say it is Hypericum inodorum "Kolmbeau" or the First Editions Beauty Hypericum. Here is a link on care: http://plantsnouveau.com/plant/hypericum-everlasting-beauty/

Looks to me as if it is a winterberry bush. Am I 100% sure NO? But it is my best guess. If it is a winterberry in terrible shape all it requires now is some TLC from you and this time nest year you 'll be happy you got to get the last one. They like to be in a location in your garden where they roots remain moist now not wet not soggy just moist. This shrub takes a while to become established so to answer your inquiry regarding trimming you have several years to concern yourself with that task. The berries are either white or red and remain on all year long once berries are established, as well. They like the sun but not all day direct sun. I have been given several of these in almost same condition as you received yours, so get it out of the container and let it soak a day or two in either Transplant solution or what I use instead now Epsom salts and few coffee grounds. I let my plants sit in this for a day while I trim up any dead branches so that the plant does not waste any time repairing what is too weak and would drain nutrients.

Thank you Rhonda and Deanna...after looking it up and comparing to winterberry, I think you're assessment of St John's Wort to be spot on!. I also have the perfect spot in my yard for it and know it will do well.

Hypericum - Hardy - branches need cutting back when leaves go to be ready for next year otherwise they can get leggy.
