I'm trying to upholstery this barrel chair. Just the seat portion. There is no way I can take the chair seat off. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Can't seem to download picture. Bummer

Turn it upside down and remove the bottom cover by lifting the stapkes with a flat screw driver. After that things should become more apparent as to how you take the chair apart. Either make notes or photograph as you go along. Then you'll remember how to put it all back together.

You will also have to loosen the outside back and arms in order to get the old seat unstapled and then restaple the seat in place on all sides. Not hard, depending on the fabric, just tedious. I had to do that with this wing chair, but in this case the entire inside of the chair was replaced and the old velvet outside was left on.

Thank you for all your help. Not sure I would be up to the task. When I recovered my dining room chairs, it was much simpler. All I had to do was remove 4 screws and the seat came off. The covering on the chair right now is leather and I'm wondering if I could spray paint it. Don't know if there is paint for leather.
