Butcher block counter top

My husband is building his first cabinet with a butcher block top..what should he seal it with, plus making it food prep safe?

Use mineral oil after cleaning each time as well.

We just bought a butcher block top for our island. Use food grade mineral oil. You can find it near the cutting boards at Bed, Bath & Beyond and probably other places as well.

I use olive oil or lemon oil.

use only Waco Butcher Block at Home Depot or Hardware, this is meant for countertops and cutting boards, I have used this great success, once a year is all you need to do
