Ants on hummingbird feedeer

Have tried everything and nothing seems to work.

    I put boric acid on the ground around mine and no problem with ants

    In my area we have Big R its a sub of Tractor Supply. They sell a piece that is a cup that goes between the Shepherds hook and the feeder that you fill with water to keep the Ants out. works perfect.

      Here it gets sooo hot, the water evaporates so quickly, I use cooking oil.

    I put Vaseline on the bottom of the shepherds hook, they can't crawl through it.

    Orshleins or Tru Value Hardware have these little gadgets that have ant repellant in them. They are a small red or green upside down cup with a hook on the top. All you have to do is hang your feeder from them and hang it up! It works like a charm!

    I attached an ant moat, just a little attachment that you add above the feeder, put water & a drop of oil into. It keeps the ants from getting to the feeder.

    What we did was drill a hole in a small tuna or salmon can for the hanger to go through, then we plastered around the hole with vaseline - no more ants!
