Small Cabin Remodel

I'm madly in love with a little lake in Iowa called Okoboji. I believe it is the most magical and beautiful place in the world! It is one of three...yes I said 3...blue water glacier made lakes in the world! How amazing is that?! For a little bit more about Okoboji check out my previous post here.
I am lucky enough to visit often as my parents have a cabin on West Lake Okoboji. We have quite a history here and a long time ago we had a cabin on East Lake Okoboji which we shared with 3 other families. It was so fun and we took turns staying there on the weekends. I have some great memories there.
Porch Before
Porch After - The wood was all painted and new big and bright windows were installed to help make the room feel larger.
Dining Room Before
Dining Room After - We converted the guest area into a dining room that over looks the lake. New light fixture, vaulted ceilings and the shelving add so much to the space.
The largest transformation is the beautiful work done on the outside! Here is the cabin before:
Cabin After: New siding and a new deck create the most beautiful cabin on the lake!

I'm sure people are going to freak out that you painted all of that wood paneling, but can I just say WOW!! What a huge difference those light, bright colors make......I love it!!!

@Janet Weber Johnson Thank you so much! The wood on the house was actually rotting and not in great shape so it's actually siding on the house! We love how it turned out!

I live just down the highway from Okoboji. I have some wonderful memories of the lakes. But I remember it best before it grew into a major touristy area. I remember it without houses around the lakes. Nice looking cabin.

We just moved to Spencer a few months ago, and from what we've heard from our new friends and neighbors, we are excited to visit and experience Lake Okoboji. This quaint cottage is the perfect place to relax and escape.

@HoffMom4 I actually grew up in Spencer. My parents live there half of the year and then the other half of the year at their cabin on West Lake! I hope you love Spencer, it's a great little town!
