DIY Embroidery Hoop Modern Art

Buying art for your walls can be quite expensive so why not create your own art? This tutorial will give you step by step images showing you just how to take a simple embroidery hoop and make it into unique contemporary abstract art for your home.
If you like darker wood like me then stain the outside hoop of your embroidery hoop, otherwise it can be left as is. Stretch some canvas over your hoop and tape it on the back so that you have nice clean edges.
Using several different acrylic colours of your choosing (I used yellow, blue, white pink & black) squeeze your paint out on the canvas and using a palette knife smear it around. Add one colour at a time and make sure you leave the paint on thick to create a texture.
