My husband I decided to embark on a home garden this year, we had done 1/4 of this area last year and decided to go big this year.
Our area is 23f by 22f. We have 10 tomato plants (5 varieties), 4 eggplant (2 varieties), 4 pepper plants (3 varieties), 4 zucchini plants, 4 squash plants, 4 cucumber plants (2 varieties), 4 varieties of carrots, a raspberry bush, 2 Brussels sprout plants, 2 broccoli plants, Bush green beans (green and burgundy), pole green beans, snap peas, sweet peas, 2 types of lettuce, 2 types of kale and spinach.
With exception of the Brussels sprouts , broccoli and the raspberry bush, we grew everything from seed. We started our seeds indoors in late March and incubated them in an under the bed type plastic Rubbermaid container which was placed in our for t window soaking up several hours of sun per day.
All of our plant starts took off and after the hardening off process we put everything in the ground on May 23rd.
Harvest Tally as of July 2, 2015
8 yellow squash
2 zucchini
75 bush variety green beans
5 sweet peas
And lots of the salad greens
