Screened in Porch Ideas

Now that summer is really heating up, we spend so much time on our screened porch. Let me show you how I combined a few new items, with unused decor I already had to create an inviting outdoor space that practically adds square footage to our home, without breaking the bank!
Seating Area

We had a beautiful granite table with 6 chairs a friend had given us, but with the kids getting older we spent less time eating meals together on the screened porch and more time relaxing with a cold beverage. So we moved the table downstairs and kept the chairs on the porch.

The all-weather wicker has held up beautifully. I chose to replace the chair cushions because our dogs used them as chew toys.
Since they are ridiculously expensive I opted to purchase outdoor throw pillows instead of full dining chair cushions that sell for at least $20.00 each. I purchased 6 new pillows, 3 solid blue which were about $5.00 each and 3 striped that were my favorite but little more like $9.00 each. Still seemed like a success only spending $42.00 on 6 outdoor chair cushions.

OUTDOOR RUGS ARE A MUST:

To create an inviting outdoor space you really, really need an all-weather rug to define the faux living space.
I was lucky to find this beauty in my favorite colors at Southeastern Salvage for $39.00! Yeah you heard me right, most outdoor rugs sell for $50.00-$200.00 depending on the size.

Decor:

I am very cheap when it comes to decor, our taste changes so often I hate to invest any real amount of money into decor.
~The twisted wood orbs are from Southeastern Salvage as well and ranged in price from $5.00-$7.50 each depending on the size.

~I purchased this really cool atrium style lantern that I added candles to, it was about $50.00. Some stores sell similar lanterns anywhere from $200-$250 for this size!

REPURPOSE:

Needing somewhere to place a cool drink I took an old living room end table that was just waiting for new purpose and tried my hand a chalk paint for the first time!

Just a quick stop to the local Salvation Army and can you believe I found/saved this wicker coffee table for $10.00, I just spray painted to it to match everything else.
I moved the resin vases from my dining room table outdoors and added curly willow, they had run their course inside and have held up surprisingly well!
I made this drink tray with a remnant piece of beadboard, I added my drip molding trim that I purchase at a local overstock warehouse, Loading Dock South.
With a drink holder from The Christmas Tree Shop we are set for the long weekend at home, with some sunporch sittin' on our are you ready?

Beautifully inviting! I like the dark wicker against the trees and the great way you have displayed the curly willow branches. Good Job!

@Cindy Nelson Thank you!!! I love it!! I was so programmed to have that space an "eating area" I absolutely love it being a sitting area instead.
