Kitchen Sponge Holder From Upcycled Bagel Slicer

Easy
I have a basement full of thrift store purchases that I haven't used yet. I am starting to come up with all sorts of upcycled projects and makeovers for these items. Here is my upcycled/repurposed bagel slicer, yes I bought a bagel slicer from a thirft store, into a kitchen sponge holder.
My kitchen sponges usually lay right on the side of the sink or in a little basket. I decided upon using the bagel slicer to house my kitchen sponges and it would allow it to air dry without causing it to become smelly. The kitchen needed more color and I decided to use color blocking to spruce up this kitchen sponge holder.
Here is what I started with. Nothing special, just an ordinary bagel slicer. Why not make your sponges have a stylish, chic holder?
Great look right?! I love the color combination and it brings is some color to the area next to my sink. Check out my blog for the tutorial on how I color block painted this item. http://www.casawatkins.net/2015/07/sponge-holder-from-upcycled-bagel-slicer.html
There are so many possibilities with this little bagel slicer. You could also use it to store pencils, crafting markers, note pads, etc.
