I have been seeing all over social media this new DIY paint. I do love to try new paints so I splurged and bought quite a few sample colors. Let’s call it my Valentines Day gift. 💝 😉 I saw a blogger use this teepee shelf as paint storage so when I happened across it on Amazon, I snatched it up. Many times my projects begin one way and turn out differently than my original design. This project is no exception. First, I was going to add a colorful planked back, then I changed it to burlap. I’ll show you some of the pictures because I do think it would have worked and been pretty but I just loved adding a burlap backing.
Here are my teepee shelf, paints, and scrap wood.
I painted some scraps to play around with.
I painted the teepee shelf Bohemian Blue. It dries much lighter than it appears in this picture.
I played around with some fun colors but wasn’t feeling it for this shelf.
First, I decided to stencil the sides a bit.
I used Mermaid Tail to add accents to the sides.
I used Supertape to add the burlap to the back of the shelf. It is SUPER strong double sided tape.
I put it on the three sides.
Then removed the top protective film to expose the adhesive.
I like it.
And it does work well for storing paint like I saw on Crafts by Court.
This shelf would also work great hanging on a wall. Can’t you just see it as nursery decor?
Of course, then I realized I have a bit of a paint problem so this will be for my favorite paints. If you want to see how I made the paint storage crate from Hobby Lobby supplies check it out here.

I had so much fun stenciling this, I think I have another stenciling project on the horizon.
