Opal on Jul 06, 2015This drove me nuts on mine. Ways to mark the long side are laundry marker or thread stitch mark on the part that goes under the mattress. I have also read of sewing a pocket on the top long end to hold a book, flashlight light or what have you. I tried a sharpie and it washed so I have a sewn on contrasting ribbon to both long sides.Helpful Reply

Valerie on Jul 06, 2015I was also constantly frustrated by this problem. What I did was to sew a contrasting piece of fabric across both the top and bottom of the sheet. It took a few minutes, and now the problem is a thing of the past!Helpful Reply

Margaret on Jul 06, 2015Yep I alway do it wrong the first time. I have been thinking of putting a piece of yarn at the top. No sew just need a yarn needle.Helpful Reply

Nancy Fallon on Jul 06, 2015All the sheets I've had have the tag with the fabric content sewn into the same corner seam. If you put it at either the top left corner or bottom right corner (as seen from standing at the bottom of the bed) it should be correct.Helpful Reply

Peggy Stigler on Jul 06, 2015Like Libby, only I put my saftypin in the left top corner. I locate the pen and start making the bed from the left-hand corner.Helpful Reply

Shari on Jul 06, 2015I do the same thing as @Nancy Fallon ... look for the tag sewn in one of the corner seams. It's usually in the last corner seam you check! lol. I almost always put the tag at the top left side of the mattress but occasionally I will switch it to the bottom right corner just so the sheet is not worn too thin by my husband's and my sleeping positions.Helpful Reply

Frankie Laney on Jul 06, 2015I do the same as a couple of the others. The sewn tag goes at the top left side or bottom right. Best way, other than sewing a few colored stitches on one corner(that you will remember.)Helpful Reply

Susan Tremblay on Jul 06, 2015The first time, grab a corner with one hand and the next corner with the other hand. Stretch out your arms to see the distance between the two. Then shift it to the next two corners. If it's longer it's the long side, if it's shorter it's the short side. To save doing it each time simply remember how long either the long or short side is and you'll only have to grab it once.Helpful Reply

Rhonda Davis on Jul 07, 2015I figured out what Lydia of San Antonio did: tab always on left head side and then I mark that corner with permanent marker. I use black and mark along the elastic gathers. I'm the only one who sees it and its there for me to see even if the tab should be removed.Helpful Reply
