Easy
Saw both on the net and decided to give them a try. I bought the cups and saucers / plates at Goodwill, Garage Sales or had on hand. First project : Glue the cup sideways (laying down) on saucer / plate using E6000. Let it dry overnight.
TA DA!!! Hang from a shepards hook in the yard.
2nd project:

I bought spindles at a garage sale, cut the end at an angle, then wipe them off and spray painted with a corresponding color.
Do the same attachment with the cup and saucer / plate, let dry overnight.

Place saucer / plate upside down so that it hangs inside a canister ( I used empty coffee can). Using silicone glue (weatherproof) coat the flat part of the spindle (don't overload) and position in middle of saucer / plate. Let dry overnight.
You should be able to push into the ground, HOWEVER I came up with an idea...you can dig a hole for a coffee can (I use Folgers plastic container), place the can inside of the hole, fill with sand then insert the spindle inside the sand!

For winterization just remove the birdfeeder and cover the canister with the plastic lid!! Ready for next spring!!
Project 3: Instead of the cup laying on it's side you can sit it straight up, making a bird bath or an upright bird feeder.

Very clever, but the squirrels would really enjoy this instead of the birds!! We have tried blocking the squirrels from our feeder to no avail. any suggestions?

Well they say to switch to Safflower seeds, birds like squirrels don't. Also adding 1 Tbs of Cayenne Pepper to 10# of seed..birds don't mind, squirrels don't like.
