Amazing Garden Bench Recycle

For 4 long years, the rotunda in my court had stood empty, except for a few rocks and a lone, crumbling garden bench. When the rotunda was being cleared out for the new plants, that old bench came home with me!!
I knew this iron framed bench had good bones and I was itching to do a little bench recycle and put it in my garden.
This is my little bench. It just looked so pitiful standing in the middle of the court all alone.
To give my little bench the love it needed, I purchased:

4 1 x 2-1/4 x 8 ft boards

6 wood screws

10 bolts with nuts

1 can Rustoleum Gloss Black Spray Paint

I had leftover Sage paint from our exterior painting project, so I used that for the boards

Thanks for reply..was pretty sure that had to be the way to go but will have to wait until September or October and we are of the triple digit temps. I am excited. When it's done hopefully I can take a picture and put it on here or on my Pinterest page

I would love to see it when you are done! I understand the weather issue:) I am in Columbus, Ohio which apparently has become the new Seattle...it has rained every day here for weeks:( Take care - Christine
