How You Pot Your Plant Matters

It’s no secret I love my garden, and that potted plants are my favorite addition to any outdoor area! Before living in a house, we lived in apartments for seven years, but I still had a large potted garden on our patio. Anyone can have enjoy the beauty of a garden, even if your space is limited. A few weeks ago I shared with you my tutorial on how to pot a hibiscus step by step.
I had a few people ask me, what difference does it make? Well, it makes a huge difference. I have experimented and researched many methods over the years to see what works, and what doesn't. Some of my tips I learned in horticulture classes or chemistry classes and many are trial and error.
Here is an update on that hibiscus plant I showed you how to pot!
After two weeks, it has more than doubled in size, and it is much healthier too! It is much more green and vibrant than it was when I purchased it.
I potted my first hibiscus eight years ago, and it never really grew. It stayed smaller, bloomed only a few times in the season, and had more of a light green tint to it. Not only did I NOT pot it correctly, but I didn't care for it correctly.
I am a firm believer that anyone enjoy a garden (even if you have limited space), but with proper care, your garden can also thrive.
