Air conditioning unit in window on porch

I have a covered porch on the outside of my kitchen, the window has air conditioner in it. It ruins being able to have a nice seating area on porch. Any ideas how to cover up because husband will not move it to another window.

You could build a box with shutters for doors the a/c could still blow through the slats and you wouldn't have to look at it.

Is it the kitchen window or the porch window that has the air conditioner in it? I ask because I was wondering if the backside of the air conditioner is projecting into the porch? Or is it an open porch with a roof? Would he consider a through the wall application, if it's for the kitchen (hopefully to another outside wall)? It's hard moving those darn things around, and the way I finally worked things out with my husband about ours, was keeping them on the same floor as they get installed every summer (in an upstairs room under an old buffet when not in use up there and on our enclosed back porch, downstairs). The day may come when moving them around gets too much for us, and I've been considering alternatives (although I'm not fond of through the wall year round). I doubt we would ever do central air in our old house, but, if we downsize, I might look into it.

Sell it and let the buyer remove it... I've never had A/C, and you learn to live without it. Seriously.
