Striped and Stenciled Bedside Table

This fun bedside table is my entry in the Fab Furniture Flippin' Contest, sponsored this month by Unicorn SPiT. Isn't that that best. product. name. ever?
I started with this solid wood bedside table with a very dated "before."
After cleaning the piece thoroughly, and sanding the top well, I painted the table white to create a blank slate. It took two coats to cover the multi-colored base.
Next I taped off the table top for stripes, and wiped on a fairly light coat of Unicorn SPiT in Lia Teal. I wanted a painterly affect, so I used a stain pad and wiped lightly in one direction.
To add some color to the shelf, I wiped the stain on "solid."
The stenciled flowers match the room's accent wall. Perfect for a fun teenager girl!
