  • Painting the palettes. This is optional but we like the bright colors!
  • Staple commercial grade landscape fabric to the back, sides, and bottom.
  • Our planted garden! We mixed a lot of different things together but really the combination of plants could be endless! 8

Our palette garden

Cultivators Design and landscape loves to re-use things and this is our version of the palette garden. We also think these would make great herb gardens or succulent gardens too!

Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to get rid of, or at least curtail, the carpenter bees?

We have a huge deck and they are already swarming. Have had it professionally sprayed in the past years but didn't really see much of a difference. Last year, used the Raid hornet spray ...»
and it helped some but could have used a can a day. Was hoping someone might have a "secret household ingredient" type spray we could try. Tyring to keep from adding more chemicals to the environment.

DIY stair lighting

I have to brag on my husband for his handy work! Let the Spring Honey Do List begin!

Candice- EXOVATIONS

These kits come in several different options. You can have the lights installed into the boards on your deck, on the stairs like shown or you can even have them installed on the front post with a decorative hood. Also available is post caps with lights in them. Lots of options to spruce your exterior up at a low cost this Spring!

Windows & Doors: Last spring a bought a new front door but haven't had it installed yet. It's the kind with one big panel of plain glass

. I wanted the extra light to come thru the door, BUT I'm a very private person and do NOT want anyone outside to see in unless I want them to. I want a blind, shade, etc., to cover so ...»
well that if I'm standing inside the door at night with my inside light on, a person outside will have no idea I'm there. My first idea was to get a blind for the door that I could raise during the day. But at night, someone outside would see movement on the sides of the blind, even if it overlapped the sides of the glass by an inch or so. I think a Roman shade would also allow movement to be seen. Is there anything that would 100% obscure inside movement to a person standing outside at night? Maybe I should just buy a door with a smaller window at the top of the door?

If you haven't resolved this yet, the answer is probably to change out the clear glass with a ...»
sealed blind between two layers of glass. This is real simple, cost effective and totally private when you want and wide open when you want, or anywhere in between.
