Can someone help me ID this plant?

Hello everyone! I found a bag of these plants discarded with someone's trash. I have been trying to ID them for the last few days now and still haven't found out what they are. They look tropical, and the leaves are sawed/serrated and quite sharp and scratchy if you happen to have one brush against you. It seems to propagate by sending out rhizomes, I think most of these were extra shoots someone threw out, but they weren't covered in dirt, so I'm guessing they were probably hanging off the main plant. Any ideas? The closest I could find was pandanus, but online it says their leaves are only serrated near the tips, while this one has the serrated spines all the way down the leaf. So did I pick up a nice houseplant or is it a nuissance? For reference, I'm up in Quebec, Canada, so I'm thinking that it's a houseplant and not a garden perennial that comes back every year. Thank you for any help!
