Does anyone know of a less expensive alternative than brick pavers to replace old river-rock on a large area around the pool on a lanai?

Bark is the least expensive large area cover that I know of. HoDe often has it 3 bags for ten dollars, sometimes even four for ten.

Ahh! I hear that there is a material available tha sprays on bark and keeps it in place. I would suspect that that might alter its permability vis-a-vis rain etc going through.

Talk to the staff at the box stores --sometimes they will get shipments of marble countertops that are damaged in transport and you can pick them up inexpensively. Makes a gorgeous patio ( we did this in Georgia)
