If you have plain jars and some food colouring, Mod Podge, acrylic paint and some cut vinyl, then you can add some colour and interest to an otherwise plain clear glass jar, bottle or vase.
If you like a beachy summer feel, try these 3 different inexpensive ideas for vignettes.
Plain jars and bottles without writing work best for these techniques.
The first technique uses tissue paper that looks like faux sea glass. Wide mouth plain jars work best for this idea.
The second technique uses food colouring, Mod Podge and acrylic paint.
The third method is to color the water. If you have a vinyl cutter, then you can add even more interest to the jars with a vinyl saying, poem, initials or shapes. The sky is the limit!
I think they would look great as centrepieces at a beach themed wedding reception. you could add the couples names or initials with vinyl. Most of the items were bought at the dollar store. This particular centrepiece probably cost $5 total. What do you think? Are you inspired? To find out exactly how each one was done, check out the tutorials on my blog. You're sure to be inspired! ;o)
