Small Space Makeover: Back Patio

There's nothing like having your very own outdoor oasis in the middle of the city. Can I get an amen from fellow city-dwellers? Outdoor space was pretty high on our priority list when we moved to Philadelphia a year ago and I was thrilled that the 1850s row house we settled on had a 10'x12' patio in the back. We decided to spruce up this space this summer so we could enjoy being out here as often as possible while the weather is nice (it practically doubles our living space), and I'm so excited to (finally!) share the before and after!
BEFORE: This sad-looking patio housed some old furniture that wasn't truly meant for the outdoors. We also used this space as makeshift bike storage, but along the way it lost its roof, so the shelter no longer served its purpose!
AFTER: It's now a beautiful living and gathering space! We purchased an outdoor wicker conversation set (it was a steal!) that has a classic look that will never go out of style.
This seating group is perfect for having friends over and enjoying the summer weather.
We added a few outdoor throw pillows for comfort and style.
An outdoor rug completed the space and pulled everything together for a cozy feel. We basically live out here when the weather is nice. It has quickly become my favorite place in our house!

I like so much your creation. I sounds so good to have fresh air and friends' conversation (and chatting, certainly)

But, how do you deal with raining or snowing?

In my country, not US, there are a lot of big rains in summer and autumn.

So, how to tackle such weather?

Thanks a lot for your share,

    Tuyet (Vietnam)

    I'd paint that block too!

It’s a pretty space but basically just new furnishings. It transformed the space and yet took no special talent. My kind of make over.
