How to paint tumbled marble backsplash in kitchen

I want to change the backsplash color as I don't care for the brown tones.

  • Most rocks can be painted so tumbled marble should be too, you might want to poly afterwards to help protect new finish.

      @Debbie Westgate- Guyot-Sliwa This is what I'm finding from all the research. Some recommend priming and oil based paint, others just milk paint. Just want to be sure. Thanks!

    I would use a bonding primer before using ANY kind of paint so that it will be more durable. After painting I would use a poly acrylic sealer. If you don't want it to be shiny you can get a dull or matte finish on the sealer.

    Not really. Any paint store has them or Home Depot, Lowes. The fact that they are Bonding is the key, you can use over almost any surface and they will stick.

      @Pam Elkins I have an oil based Kilz primer. I'll have to check if it says bonding.
