    A couple suggestions Astrid...using a cordless screwgun you can get a couple screws in the kick-plate enough to use like a pull handle and pull together enough to glue with some fast setting adhesive like Loc-tite power-grab. Let set completely and prime and paint or you can just run new wide base molding across the fronts and inside corner, use wood glue on the inside corner until it sets-up then stain or paint...Best wishes JL

    I've reworks some toe kicks before by pulling it completely out and then ripping in down to be a bit narrower. Having a small gap at the top is invisible but allows you to place it correctly. adding some "nail blocks" behind provide the support
