I had a front porch and walkway done with concrete.

3 weeks later it has a crack thru it. The company who did it ... Said, well that's normal it's concrete. I've had some friends who have said, no way, something was done wrong, even that they didn't have enough water on it while they were doing it. Am I wrong to pursue this further?

  • Depends - size of crack, settling involved or... To much water actually makes the concrete weaker. With that concrete is prone to crack & that is one reason why we put joints in the concrete to hopefully give it a place & way to crack... Got pics?

Sounds like they don't want to fix their goof up.. some concrete last for decades without ever cracking..... Given all the rains and strange seasons everywhere. I could see if it had been over a long period of time,,but 3 weeks NO !

They messed up & they have to redo it correctly. You paid for this to be done right.

If it's really bad, file a complaint with the BBB. You can also check to see if any other complaints have been filed against this concrete company.
