I have a poorly painted tile floor, shows all the dirt & the paint is chipping- how do I redo it? I don't mind the flooring itself but the painting wasn't done properly.

I'm going to guess that this is a short term solution. I have painted lots of things, including tile but wouldn't have attempted painting a tile floor. That said, if the paint is chipping, then you'll need to scrape areas of loose paint and thoroughly scuff the surface to improve adhesion of the new primer and paint.Next you'll need to thoroughly clean, clean, clean the entire floor. And clean some more. When you are completely satisfied that you have it really clean, you'll want to let the floor dry thoroughly and then apply a very high quality primer using both a roller and brush to get into the grout lines and around the perimeter well.. You may need a couple of coats. I'd let the primer cure for a couple of days and stay off of it. Make sure there isn't any dust or debris present then paint with a very high quality porch or floor paint and plan on a couple of coats, allowing plenty of time to cure between. Finally, I would apply a couple of coats of a clear finish which is compatible with the type of paint you use (oil based or latex based). This will provide some measure of protection to the paint.Allowing plenty of curing time will make the final results harder and more durable. Best wishes.

The above mentioned flooring is terra cotta tiles-any suggestions for stripping all the paint off & then once that's done what do I seal it with?
