Rustic Outdoorsy Boys Nursery

I recently had the pleasure of completing my first Nursery Design. I had always wanted to do a nursery and this project was particularly special because it was for my own first child.. a son. I have a hunting loving hubby, while I grew up fishing... So we're sure our son will love all things outdoors. So I wanted to create a space that reflected that love, but not being an overload of camo and anchors. This tiny room required a lot of thought to get the most out of the space. The convertible crib is large and I wanted to keep the twin bed in the room for the sleepless nights.
I hit a snafu when I ordered hardwired wall lanterns but then discovered how much it would cost to add them to the wall. So I sent them back and ordered 2 battery operated LED Play lanterns and wrought iron hooks. Taaadaaaa! Wall lantern sconces for around $32.00.
What always helps me see the project is my space planning and material boards. You can easily create this using such outlets like Pinterest or Olioboard. I like to use Adobe Illustrator. *Many of the images used on this design board are not mine and can be removed by request. I just couldn't help it... your image inspired me. Thank you- whoever you are!
One of the most meaningful pieces in the room is the small breakfront dresser that was converted to a changing table. It was my late Grandmothers. I distressed it to match the cribs finish and added rope handles.
The Rustic dresser changing table complete with rope and cast deer antler buds knobs. It's the perfect way to incorporate an heirloom piece.
This was by far my favorite part of the project. Rope & reclaimed wooden wall shelves. The wood was free & the rope was cheap. All-in-all a very fun, inexpensive, and eye-catching feature in my boy's nursery.
DIY Teepee out of sapling branches and painters drop cloth.
More artwork is needed... I'm twitching over the blank space.
