Hi, sorry you're having difficulties. Two options that spring to mind, depending on the design of your couch you could get wooden riser feet that your couches original feet sit into and raise the whole thing up . You can get them from mobility suppliers and online. The other thing is if there's room from the top of the seat pad to the arm rest, is to have an additional solid foam cushion that sits in the base and you put the original cushion pad on top of that. Hope that makes sense.

Lowe's and Home Depot sell "feet" that screw into the existing couch feet. They are usually only a couple of dollars each and come in different styles. They are bare wood so can be finished in any way you like.

You can buy bed risers feet which are made of rubber I believe. I think I ordered them from Sears for a client, but just google them and you will find them.

Go for the bed risers. They are inexpensive, durable and can be found at Home Depot Lowe's/ Bed & bath and other stores.

Bed risers will do the trick. They are inexpensive and easily found in many stores like Walmart

I once used cinder blocks for this purpose...don't put on wood floors, I had carpeting. And paint blocks to match sofa fabric.

@Bess W I like the cinder blocks idea! I would cover the blocks with a matching fabric or vinyl. It would look good and protect the floors.

I have the same problem,I made a frame out of 2 X 4',then put plywood on top, painted it and put my recliner on it.It is just the right height now. :)

Mother with this problem. Brother cut 2x4 blocks, pre-drilled holes in blocks and legs of sofa. Attached blocks with 4" wood screws. Wasn't enough, he attached a 2nd block to each leg and glued a carpet swatch on block. To make it more stable, he attached 2x4's running around outside of all blocks.

I too had a hard time getting up off the couch. Yes, bed risers. Here's how they will look. I'm making a black skirt or black fabric covered board for the bottom of the couch. I purchased mine at Kmart for $8. Perfect!

@Mary-Ann My oldest son also liked the look as is. It truly saved me from buying another (higher up ) couch. This couch is leather and is almost 20 years old and it still looks brand new. And easy to clean, 6 of my own children and 9 grandchildren have used this couch. I absolutely love leather.

@Dianne curious what you ended up doing?

Being that we're "plus size" at our house, we just removed the legs off the couch, purchased some landscape timbers from Walmart, and stacked a row of 2 of them all around the bottom. Now we can actually get UP off the couch!
