Painting a toilet lid

I have searched the net to see if anyone has either painted or decoupaged a toilet tank lid. It seems to me to be a fun way to decorate a bathroom. Old roses in a shabby chic house...or multi colors in Boho...anyone have any thought on this?

@Refunk My Junk what do you think about this idea?

I have covered old ceramic vases with decorative papers to change the look. Just used a clean vase surface and diluted white glue to wet and adhere the paper strips. Allow to dry and apply several coats of Polycrylic clear coat. Would work the same on a toilet tank lid.

Well, it might not be a good idea because if the tank sweats in the summer it could mess up your decoupage. Could be why no one has done it yet.

I did this back in the 80's.....lots of fun...copied a design on the lid....painted....definitely a conversation piece. Now to do one for my campground chemical toilet. Haven't decided on a design

Vinyl stickers would work if your toilet sweats I saw some at the dollar store or glass paint would work too I think.

never painted a toilet tank lid but I did paint a toilet seat, was renting at the time and asked the landlord for a new seat and he told me to paint it which I did, It was still tacky and I had a husband that would take the newspaper into the bathroom and read. Need I tell you that he stuck to it, I still chuckle about to this day and that was 50 years ago. Had to redo it.
