Back to School Organizing Closet

time brings back images of sharpened pencils and blank construction paper. Being prepared and organized for the coming school year always held such promise. Now, as a mom, just getting everyone out the door with all their stuff can be a major task!
Today I am sharing a small spot in our home that lends itself to organized mornings and punctual arrivals. It started with this small coat closet that really served no purpose, other than possibly holding, well....coats.
With just a few additions a simple, budget friendly school organizational closet was made!
Each of my kids got their own hook. You can find one anywhere...Target, Home Depot, Walmart. Be sure to anchor with a sheet rock anchor if you go straight into the drywall. Backpacks can get heavy.

The closet still holds coats in the winter, again saving us time in the mornings.
I bought the three cubby bench at Target. You could make your own, use baskets or even crates.

The initial letters are rusty, lovely metal from a trip to Roundtop,Texas. You can find letters anywhere!

This closet has rules. Everything school related goes in it when we get home and then in the morning everyone knows where to find what they need for the day. Mornings go much smoother with this in our life!

Maybe you have a closet you can transform? Even a small spot on the wall or counter would make a great gathering place and save you time in the morning!

Happy back to school y'all.
